One day sits are open to practitioners who have experience in meditation.
These one-day retreats are conducted in silence. People newer to the practice are encouraged to come for a couple of hours in the morning or afternoon. You can contact us to discuss what can work for you. The day includes a short Dharma talk and possibly a practice discussion lead by a teacher.
To help participants gain the most from the experience, before sitting begins at 9am, phones are put away and once we start, speech is kept to a minimum. This means if you need information or assistance, it is best to indicate to a teacher or practice leader that you need to talk, and then step out of earshot of others. The only exception is during a one-on-one meeting with a teacher, or during a practice discussion after a dharma talk. We keep talks brief, at around 20 minutes.
What to Bring: bring your own lunch and meditation cushions. There's a microwave for heating food and a well equipped kitchen. Cushions provided for people catching buses or who don't own any. Chairs are also available.
Time-table: 9am to 3:30pm. (Additional Early/Late sits available if staying overnight.) Download Schedule.
