Subsequent dates TBD.
These one-day retreats are conducted primarily in silence. There will be Dharma talk and possibly a discussion by a teacher during the day. Dokusan (one-on-one meeting with a teacher) will be available.
To help participants gain the most from the experience, once sitting begins at 9am, speech is kept to a bare minimum. This means if we need to ask for practical information, or get assistance, we ask that you do so in a quiet voice without disturbing others. It is best to indicate to the teacher or a practice leader that you need to ask something and then the two people step away from earshot of others. The only exception to this is during one-on-one meetings with a teacher (dokusan) or if there is a practice discussion after the dharma talk. We keep talks brief, at around 20 minutes.
What to Bring: bring your own lunch and meditation cushions. There's a microwave for heating food and a well equipped kitchen. Cushions provided for people catching buses or who don't own any. Chairs are also available.
Time-table: 9am to 3:30pm. (Additional Early/Late sits available if staying overnight.)
Venue: Linh Sơn Temple, 25 Banyan St, Bellbowrie
Transport Bus: Route 444, closest stop "Moggill Rd at Bellbowrie" on Timetable.
Accomodation: If you'd like to stay at the temple for a night or two rooms are available by donation (only as you can afford).
